Hi loves, I'm so excited about today's post. I have been so into Younique lately. Everything I have tried so far I have liked and it's kind of new for me with a makeup brand. I always find something I'm not liking.
On 1st of April they had a new launch, which was a face primer, so I though it's good time to talk about all their primers in one blog post. I'm always excited to try out a new primer it's just good to have something to give my skin a smooth space.
Younique makes mineral makeup, which is free of harsh chemicals, parabens and their products are not tested on animals.
Let's start with the new primer, which is their Touch Glorious Mattifyinf Face Primer (30ml, €37.00) and I have been testing it out a week. As a reference I have combination skin type. I get oily in the T-Zone and rest of my face is normal. In the T-zone I definetly like to use something more mattifying and make sure my makeup lasts longer.
This primer comes in a gray packaging and I like it has a pump. I do love Younique packaging is more minimalistic, but still stylish. I also love this baby comes with a pump and I need a one pump to use on my face.
You might wonder what makes this primer special. Let me tell you the primer is formulated microsphere
powder dispersion technology, which provides blurring effect. I noticed right away my pores are gone and also fine lines. The skin is instantly smoother. That's not all! The water break technology provides skin with moisture, so I'm getting the mattifying benefits, but it doesn't feel drying.
The formulation contains also snow
mushroom extract (Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract) and it has been used in skincare procedures for centuries thanks to its naturally high concentration of vitamin D, water holding capacity and its ability to boost immunity in cells. It has five times more hydrating capacity than hyaluronic acid. In addition the snow mushrooms are anti-allergic and anti inflammatory. They prevent the degeneration of micro-vessels and help to maintain good blood flow necessary for healthy skin. The increased moisture in combination with more blood flow will moisturize and plump your skin to make it look younger and healthier. Clearly, the beauty benefits of snow mushroom are plentiful and the ingredient has pretty strong track record as being a go to for skin problems.
The primer itself feels super light gel, which has no scent to it and makes the skin smooth and is mattifying. It does feel tacky for few seconds when first applied. It passes fast and the skin feels like skin, just more blurred. This is one of my more favorite primers in my collection. I like it blurs my pores and doesn't dry my skin out. I love the idea of the skincare benefits it has, because of snow mushroom.
Ingredients: Water/Aqua/Eau, Propanediol, Glycerin,
Sodium Acrylates Crosspolymer-2, Nylon-12, Polymethylsilsesquioxane,
Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol,
Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Phytate, Saccharide Isomerate, Tremella
Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract, Potassium Sorbate.
Next we have Younique Hydrating Face Primer (30ml, €37.00), which has been life saver in the colder months. I do have oily T-zone, but rest of my faces does want bit more hydration when the weather is cold.
This primer comes is a white squeeze tube kind of packaging, but it does have a pump. I do love beauty products, which come in a pump. It's way more easier to use and it's also cleaner.
The idea behind this primer is to give the skin hydration, but also make your makeup stay on longer. The primer is formulated with gel to liquid water break technology. It provides the skin with added moisture to create refreshing and flawless makeup application. It also provides longer lasting makeup wear, which is a must in a makeup primer.
My experience has been great with this primer. The formula is more liquid and there is no added scent to it, which I really like. It sinks into the skin fast and little goes a long way. It leaves the skin smooth and hydrated. I have been using it all over the face and I do notice my makeup application is better and it also stays on longer. It doesn't have the blurring effect though, so I have started to use it with their Mattifying Face Primer. Together these are my dream primers.
Ingredients: Glycerin, Water/Aqua/Eau, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol,
Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone
Crosspolymer, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Amodimethicone,
Disodium EDTA.
MAY CONTAIN (+/-): Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI
77491, CI 77499)
Last we have their original Touch Glorious Face Primer (40ml, €42.00) and it reminds me the classic makeup base. It comes in a black squeeze tube packaging and it looks bit different, then their other primers. I hope in the future they will update the packaging to match the others.
This is a classic silicon makeup base, which evens out the skin texture and provides me with even base to apply my foundation.
I like the product doesn't have any scent to it and has never let me down. It feels light weight on skin and blends into it easily. It always delivers and I can be sure my makeup last all day. It provides me with perfect smooth base and my makeup goes on with out any issues. It hasn't clogged any of my pores or irritated my skin. And I do double cleanse every evening (if I wear makeup), which you should be doing as well, if you wear any makeup.
Ingredients: Isododecane, Dimethicone, Polysilicone-11, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate
On the left you can see all the textures of the primers. The original one is between the hydrating and the mattifying primer. The hydrating primer is more liquid as you can see from the picture and the mattifying one is more thicker, but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin.
As you can see I do like all 3 primers, but my favorites are the New Touch Glorious Mattifying primer with the Touch Glorious Hydrating Primer. It's my dream duo and I'm obsessed.
If you are interested in any of the primers you can shop them here. I would recommend the Mattifying one the most, because it gives so much from hydration to long lasting matte complexion ;)
Which primer do you like the most?
