Hi loves! I have been testing out for months Essence Cosmetics Prime + Studio Mattifying + Pore Minimizing Primer (30ml, €3.59). This is targeted more to younger people. I got it because of the mattifying properties and it promises to minimize the look of pores. It comes in a white squeeze tube packaging and it's formulated with black clay.
The formula of it feels light like a lotion, but the color of the primer is dark gray. It's because of the black clay in it. It doesn't leave a gray cast on the skin, which I was worried about before. The primer feels so light on skin and gives me nice canvas to apply my foundation. It does have a fresh scent to it, so it might not suit very sensitive skin, because of the fragrance it contains.
On the left you can see how the primer looks. Now you'll understand my worry about leaving a cast on the skin, but it doesn't. At first application it does feel bit tacky, but it passes fast in few seconds. I have oily skin type and I feel it really has helped me be matte longer, but through out the day I still get oily in the T-zone. I always do with all the primers. I don't keep it against this makeup base, it's just the kind of skin I have. I have learned to except it and always have pressed powder with me.
I also think it does a great job minimizing the look of my pores. I do feel like my pores are so big and there is really no way to make them smaller, so this type of primers really do come handy. It doesn't make the pore disappear, but it blurs them. You can see the the results down below on the pictures. I have to say I'm happy with the result.
I think its excellent primer for the price point and it's another gem from the drugstore. I picked it up when I was in Etos (local dutch drugstore), if you are interested and based in Netherlands you can see it here.
Which is your favorite primer?
