Hi loves! Today I have something for browns. I have been testing out City Color Eye Brow Kit (8.7g), which contains a primer and 3 brow powders. It also came with a brush, which I have lost and a tweezers.
I never tried the primer, because I always use brow gel to set my brows. At first glance it looks like there is a shade for everyone, but every time I use it my brows look off. You can witness it on my instagram (link). The powders do feel buttery, but I find the shades are all wrong and if I do wanna make it work for myself I have to mix the shades together. The lighter shades are too warm for me and Beige is also too light for my brows. The Black would be too dark, so I have been mixing the Black and the Beige tone together to get a shad I can work with.
These did stay mostly on all day, but I did experience smudging and getting a even application took too long for my liking. I really don't like anything about these powders, maybe the silky feel they have when I picked up the product for a swatch. Overall its a waste of money and total miss. I did got it in a subscription box, so I'm happy I didn't spend my own money on it.
Have you tried it ever?

Aww, what a shame! I love using powder for my eyebrows mainly because it look more natural on me.

I sometimes use powder, but now I only use Tarte Brow Mousse. Its the best :)
DeleteI've tried some City Colors products I did like. I'm not a fan of powders. I prefer a pencil on my brows. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com
ReplyDeleteI like brow mousse x
DeleteOh what a shame! It's odd that they'd include black, though, I can't imagine many people would want a black brow powder!?

yeah...they all can't be winners x
DeleteSorry this didn't quite work out for you, luckily you got it for free. I haven't heard of this brand and I usually don't use powders because I find them less convenient then pencils. Thanks for the review!

DeleteI have a thing with trying new brow products so I'm always on the look out for new things. This product seems quite impractical of you have to mix colors to get the right shade :-/
