Hi loves! Sorry for not posting, but I'm in Estonia and real life got in the way a bit. I'm back now and today's post is on Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen in 01 Deeper (55.33 EUR). Its their double ended liquid liner.
The packaging of it is stylish, which I expect from the brand. Its also comfortable to hold in hand. One side has a nice long brush kind a tip liner and the one on other side is shorter and more firm. I use the brush side only and you'll find out why down below ;)
The liner itself is richly pigmented and stays on all day, if I don't rub my eyes too much or my eye don't water. Its easy to remove it. I do have other liners which survives anything, but its hard to remove and thats why I prefer this one.
The side with the longer tip is perfect for creating a winged out liner. I have much easier time and with this liner I feel like I can do winged out liner in my sleep. I don't mess my liner up and get the result I want.
But I have a huge problem with the other side, which has the tiny tip. I don't know why, but the liner bleeds like crazy (you can see it on the picture below). I don't have that issue with the other side. I don't know why its that way. I would expect 55 euro liner to preform well without any such issues.
Top 4 lines are done with the little brush tip and the other 2 with the longer brush.
I can forgive the not staying 100% through when my eyes water, but bleeding liner is not something I can tolerate. The other side works so well that its ridicules that the liner from other side bleeds like this. I don't think I'll buy it again. I'll go back to my Pupa liquid liner (review), which is hard to remove, but it stays on all day and there is no bleeding going on. I was hoping more from it, because Tati from Glam Life Guru was talking so highly about this liner.
Have you tried this liner? Will you?
Thank you for reading! xo's
Great review. It's so helpful. It's bad that one side bleeds especially for an expensive product like this.

Thank you! You expect that high price item to work perfectly x
DeleteThanks for this review. Because I've only tried his blush & lipsticks. His products are too expensive for the product to bleed.

Thanks x
DeleteThat's such a shame that one side is great but it's let down by the other side. I totally agree, a bleeding eyeliner is not something I could put up with either! x
ReplyDeletespecially when it costs an arm and a leg x
DeleteSuch a shame about the bleeding part. Wouldn't consider giving this one a try for this reason :)

I love a good eye pencil! I'll be grabbing this one for sure :)

For 55euros you would expect a great quality and no bleeding, too bad it does not work. I have never purchased an expensive eyeliner, I am currently using one from Essence. Great review!

Which one is it? I'm looking a new liner x
DeleteLoved reading this thorough review! I normally stick to the Stila Liquid Eyeliner which is about $20, so I am glad to know that the additional cost of the Tom Ford liner is not much better then the Stila.

Your welcome :) I need to try the Stila one x
DeleteMy skills are so average when it comes to eyeliners, so I'm not sure if I would splurge on them, but I have to say that it looks very nice. Too bad it bleeds though :/
