Hi beauties! Hope you all are having fab summer so far! I'm enjoying at the moment Estonian summer and that's why I haven't posted regularly. I have been traveling in Estonia and visited family and friends. Today I'm back with another review and Its on NYX Love in Paris 9 Color Shadow Palette Madeleines and Macaroons (9 x 0.8g).
At first glance this palette looks like its going to be perfect from me. I adore my nude shades, but and this but is huge, the quality of the shadows is just bad. There is not enough pigmentation to them. It specially lacks from the shimmery shades in my opinion.
All together there is 9 shades in the palette. Most of the shades are shimmery with few more or less matte shades, which I actually can use. I have used this palette together with other palettes, because I can't find a good lid color from here, which doesn't take forever to build up.
On the picture above you see the first row. The creamy white shade didn't even show up and the peachy shimmery shade is not as intense as I would like it to be. The middle shade is the only one can I use.
The second row is bit better, as you can see. The middle shade is light golden shade with glitter in it and it was super hard to get a good swatch of it. With other 2 shades I can work with.
The last row looks like non existing! It was hard to get the swatches and the last shade doesn't apply even at all!
I think this palette is waist of money just because the shadows don't have enough pigmentation to them. I have been using it on its own and with other shadows and its just not worth it. They didn't crease on me or irritate my eyes, but the lack of pigmentation makes me not want to use this palette at all :(
Have you tried this NYX palette?
Thanks for readin! xo's

I have this palette and I do have to use a heavy duty eye primer to get good pigment. I got as a free set with an ULTA purchase so I can't complain. Plus the it came with a gloss, eyeliner, and mascara. The eyeliner is great and the gloss is pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteI love NYX palettes but I haven't tried this one before. It looks gorgeous though so I may have to pick one up soon :)

What a shame about the pigmentation, they look like such pretty, everyday shades in the palette!

I had a similar palette from NYX and I quite liked it. Sad that these beautiful shades are not so pigmented though.
ReplyDeleteI don't really own much from NYX in the way of powdered shadows, I own a few of the singles which I hear are much better than the palettes. I think NYX does lip products much better. :-) And their chubby sticks aren't bad either.

I haven't tried this palette before, but I most likely won't now! That last row is super disappointing.
