Hi loves! Its the 6th day of skincare week and today's post is on Ole Henriksen Firm Action Mask (50 g, 1.7 oz.).
It comes in a jar, which I'm not a fan. I feel its so much more messier to use then if it would be in a tube. That's just my personal preference.
On the package it says its suitable for all skin types, but I personally find it to be bit drying and I have oily skin. I use it once a week and keep it on 15 minutes (on the label it says 20-30 minutes) and I apply a thick layer of it. I feel if I would keep it longer it would irritate my skin :/
I have found the way to make it work for me without drying out my skin. After washing my face I find it leaves it smoother and softer. I also feel it makes my pores seem smaller and after using this mask my makeup applies much better.
The mask itself has a scent, which is fresh scent and reminds me of spa.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua, Eau), Kaolin, Bentonite, Polysorbate 20, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Hydrastis Canadensis (Golden Seal) Extract, Echinacea Purpurea Extract, Daucus Carota Extract, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum).
(Green - low hazard, Yellow - moderate hazard, Red - high hazard. All info on hazard levels is from EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics database)
Overall I think its a great mask. I don't think it would work for all skin types though. If you have a dry skin I would stay away from it, but if you have oily skin like me you might like it.
Have you tried any of Ole Henriksen skincare products?
Thanks for reading! :)
Ole Henriksen is a new brand for me but I really like the sound of this thick face mask - I always like to see something on my skin when using a mask. Not sure how I feel about the drying elements though.

Too bad I have dry skin! :( It sounds nice otherwise.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great, anything that helps to reduce pore size is a plus for me!!

Not sure how you apply... but here is a suggestion to make it less messy out of a tub/jar. I like to use a flat foundation brush (the ones that look like a pair t brush) and dip that into the jar and then "paint" the mask onto my face! Not only is it less messy for you you and don't have to use your hands/get it under your nails, but it also feels very nice too. Almost spa like! 😄
ReplyDeleteSounds great but I have dry skin so probably won't be trying it xx
