Hi beauties! I'm a huge fan of theBalm eye shadows and when I first saw their Balmsai palette (14.4 g) on Belleza Kisses blog, I knew I need it in my life :) I picked it up when I was in Estonia.
Balmsai palette comes in a cute cardboard packaging and it closes magnetically. Even though I'm not a fan of cardboard packaging I feel thBalm's packaging always has a good quality. I also like that its slim and compact.
Inside there is 18 shadows, a mirror and it comes with 2 shaping stencils.
The first stencil is to help to do the cat eye, which could be handy if you are just starting out.
The second one is a brow guide and shadow fall out guard. Again very handy to have.
It also has a guide how to use the stencils.
Now lets talk about the shadows :) The quality is amazing as usually! To the touch they are so buttery and silky. They blend out like a dream and I didn't experience any creasing. I did get a bit of fall out when I was using the darker eye shadows. I'm so impressed with all the shadows and there isn't even one, which I don't like.
On the picture above you see 2 top rows and they are in section called In The Buff (Basics).
- Wipe Out - at first seems like a matte cream color shade, but its not matte. It has a slight sheen to it, which looks gorgeous under the brow bone.
- High Tide - is a white shimmery shadow, which looks perfect in the inner corner.
- Hang 10 - is a nude shade, with a lovely sheen to it.
- Dream Boat - is a more warm tone nude shade, with a sheen to it. Looks lovely all over the lid.
- Sandbar - is one of my favorite shadows from the palette. It looks in the pan like another nude shade, which it is in a way, but it has a gorgeous pink sheen to it. Looks fab all over the lid.
- Tubular - is a darker nude shade, with metallic finish.
The shadows in the next section which you can see on the picture above is called Mavericks (splash of color).
- Epic - is a dark bronze shade with a sheen to it.
- Surf's Up - is a dark silver shade with shimmer to it. It looks gorgeous all over the lid, if you go for a smokey eye.
- Big Kahuna - is a bright sea green shade with a golden sheen to it.
- Kawabunga -is a dark shimmery olive green shadow, which I like to wear all over the lid. It looks so pretty!
- Surfari - is a dark purple shade, with blue glitter in it.
- Pipeline - is a dark metallic blue shade, with blue glitter in it.
First 3 shades on the picture above go under section Curve & Angle (Brow/Shadows) and all 3 can be used as eye shadow or you can fill in your brows. Next 3 shades go under Catch A Wave (Use Wet or Dry).
- Score - is a matte brown shade, which I use to warm up my crease.
- Dig It - is a darker matte brown then Score and it has more cold tones to it.
- Woodie - is a dark warm toned brown, with matte finish.
- Stoked - in the pan it looks glittery purples shade. On the swatch it looks more black then purple and it has purple glitter in it.
- Ripper - is the darkest brown shade in the palette and its matte.
- Righteous - is a matte black.
Here is a look I did using only eye shadows from this palette. As you can see I went for more nude day time look :)
There is nice selection of shimmery and matte shades. I like there is nudes and colorful shades. There is so many different looks you can create with it. Its a perfect palette to take with you when traveling. I'm so happy I picked it up. Its a great addition to my collection.
Which is your favorite palette at the moment?
Thanks for reading! xo's
What do you think of this stencil? Does it really help to achieve perfect cat eye? :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such nice selection of shades and I love your makeup here! I'd probably stay away from Surfari or Big Kahuna - I'm not that brave. :) X

This palette looks gorgeous. It seems to be a real all rounder. I love the Balm in general. They make amazing products which are quality wise right up there with Benefit but for a much lower price. Do the prices vary for the Balm for Estonia and other countries?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good palette for a newbie who's just started doing make up, love the look you created too. This looks like a real good quality eye shadow palette x

I've heard good things about theBalm products, but nothing really stood out for me. But this looks amazing - I need it!
ReplyDeleteThose blue/green shades look beautiful! And the fact it has eyebrow products and shadows you can use wet and dry amazes me! So much in one palette!
I'm so glad I came across your post!

Oooh! Looks like a great palette. I still haven't had the opportunity to try any of the balm products yet. Their blush has been on my wishlist for ages.
ReplyDelete@ Liis - I think its perfect for someone who starts out doing a cat eye.
ReplyDelete@ Mademoiselle Lala - Thanks hun! xx
@ Sciencekoekje - Everything in Estonia is a bit more pricier, because the market is so small. :(
@ Amy - Thank you! xx
